Podcast Cover Art

Libri Ex Machina Cover Art

I started trying to create the cover art for the podcast, but on further review, this seems too ‘busy’ when reduced to thumbnail size. Aside from that, it seems to incorporate most of the symbolism that I would like to see in the final art. It’s possible that some variant of this (perhaps minus the ivy) would be sufficiently simplified to do the trick.

What do you think? Should I scrap this and go with something completely different? Is there a style or concept you think would work better? Let me know, and I’ll credit you with the final work.

In slightly unrelated news, I’m really looking forward to the first installment of a friend’s serialized podcast: Jarnsaxa Rising.┬áChances are quite good that if you like the concept behind this podcast, you’ll be interested in Jarnsaxa Rising. It’s a mix of theater, Norse Mythology, and a Sci-Fi near future setting. Yeah, it’s not much like anything you’ve heard before. Give it a listen – I promise you won’t regret it!

    Thank you!

For what it’s worth: everything I know about making art for podcasts, I learned from making Lj user pics.

Sounds about right. The trick is that it has to look good both at a large scale (when looked at on a full size monitor) and at a small ‘thumbnail’ size – like when listed in the podcast app of your choice.

This one works well for the one situation, but not the other.
